Kate Demarest is a marketing executive and writer who lost her only child at the tender age of sixteen to suicide. As a life-long spiritual seeker, Kate had the foundation to stand on, but she had to dig deep to find the strength to take the first step on her journey of healing. Surrounded by friends who understood her need to find the light in her darkness, Kate moved from being frozen by grief to actively healing. Believing all paths to God were good ones, she bravely sought out ministers, shamans, mediums, and everyday people who brought her signs that Jack was not only okay, but he’s also still here with her. Differently here of course, but helping her and others to navigate the abyss of loss.
Her healing journey has taken her to locations throughout the world, depositing 21 grams of Jack in special places, while exploring her new calling. Kate works with others also seeking a path from grieving to living with grief in a way that enhances their lives here and now.
Kate especially enjoys sharing her journey with other individuals who have experienced life- changing loss, helping them to find their own way to cope and to even have hope.
Kate lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her roommate Pete the Cat. She finds grace in this new chapter of her life, and starts every day practicing gratitude for the journey she never wanted to take.
